Amada Holdings announced that it made Finnish manufacturer LKI Käldman a wholly owned subsidiary on January 31, 2020, raising its stake from 40% to 100%. LKI Käldman is known for producing automated equipment for sheet metal cutting machines.
Following the acquisition, the company will be renamed “Amada Automation Europe” on April 1, 2020. The move comes in response to the rapidly increasing demand for fiber laser cutting machines, driven by advancements in laser technology and higher power oscillators.
To meet this demand, Amada HD plans to double the production capacity of automation equipment by fiscal year 2022. After April 2020, two existing factories will be consolidated into a single location to support this expansion. Additionally, the company plans to begin production of automation equipment for punch and fiber laser combined machines in October 2020.
