MECHATRONICS TECHNOLOGY JAPAN (MECT), one of Japan’s largest machine tool exhibitions held every two years in Nagoya City, is about to kick off. The highlights of MECT2023 are not only the latest products and machining technologies presented by the exhibitors. The special program by the MECT organizers, called “Concept Zone”, and seminars, etc. are full of noteworthy points to be seen at MECT2023. To help you enjoy MECT to the fullest when you visit, here is a brief introduction to the show access, event overview and official media.
Name of exhibition:MECHATRONICS TECHNOLOGY JAPAN 2023 (MECT2023)
Date: October 18th (Wed.) ~ 21st (Sat.), 2023
10:00~17:00 ※October 21st (Sat.) 10:00~16:00
Venue:Port Messe Nagoya (URL: https://portmesse.com/en/access-en)
Port Messe Nagoya, the venue for MECT, is conveniently accessible by train to avoid traffic congestion. It takes about 25 minutes to get from Nagoya Station to the nearest station, Kinjo-Futo, on the Aonami Line.
Visitors arriving by car can use the Kinjo-Futo parking lot. The parking lot is located just south of the Meiko-chuo IC and can be reached by making a large U-turn to the left after exiting the toll booth. A free shuttle bus service from Kariya Station to the venue is also available during the exhibition, so visitors from the Mikawa area can also use the shuttle bus.
MECT 2023 occupies the entire exhibition hall at Port Messe Nagoya, including the new Hall 1, which opened in October last year. The new Hall 1 is only a one-minute walk from Kinjo-Futo Station, making it very accessible. Visitors can walk comfortably even in inclement weather, as the route from the nearest train stations and parking lots to the venue is all covered.
Today’s Japanese manufacturing scene faces a number of technical/engineering challenges as markets increasingly demand the adoption of high-mix, low-volume production, difficult and complex machining technologies, new materials, and micro-machining. How do industry players apply the technologies they’ve accumulated over the years to meet today’s technological demands while differentiating themselves from the competition?
Under the theme “Machining Extraordinaire”, MECT 2023 offers visitors the opportunity to see unique and advanced machining technologies that are rarely presented to the public. The Concept Zone in Hall 3 provides visitors with inspiration for machining and technology development, and also explores the possibilities of machining in the future.
