The Japan Machine Tool Builders’ Association (JMTBA) has confirmed that a Japanese pavilion will be set up for the first time at IMTEX 2025, a machine tool exhibition to be held in Bengaluru, India, in January 2025, with the support of the JMTBA, the Japan Robot Association, and other organizations. Kazuo Yuhara, president of the JMTBA, said, “India is a very promising market. We are eager to join forces and address the market.”
The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA, President: Rajendra S. Rajamane) held a seminar in Tokyo on October 27 to discuss the market outlook for India’s manufacturing equipment industry. At the seminar, IMTMA executives gave a presentation on the trends and future prospects of the Indian machine tool market and announced the launch of the Japanese Pavilion at IMTEX2025. The seminar was attended by around 150 people both at the venue and online.
IMTMA President Rajamane (=photo) emphasized, “Under the government’s policy, the metalworking industry in India will continue to progress.” In fiscal year 2022 (April 2022-March 2023), India’s machine tool consumption is estimated to increase by 55% year-on-year to about $3 billion, of which about 10% would be imported from Japan.
