Kuroda Precision Industries has developed the new precision surface grinding machine “GS-64/65CV(s).” The company reviewed and optimized the cast iron structure in terms of shape and thickness, resulting in high rigidity essential for precision machining.
The GS-64/65CV(s) adopts a combination of AC servo motors and Kuroda’s proprietary precision ball screws in the left-right feed mechanism. This setup reduces friction resistance and ensures efficient drive operation, helping to significantly lower power consumption and reduce running costs.
By reviewing both structural design and motorization, Kuroda succeeded in downsizing the machine by approximately 20% compared to previous models. Despite its compact form, the new model maintains high rigidity and machining accuracy.
