Compact multitasking machine integrates machining and gear processing

Nidec Machine Tool has introduced the Multitasking Gear Center MGC300, a multifunctional machine that combines machining and gear cutting capabilities in a single unit. Based on a vertical 5-axis machining center, the MGC300 adds functions such as hobbing, skiving, deburring, and chamfering.

By integrating these processes into one machine, it reduces the number of setups and required jigs, thereby lowering operator workload and improving overall efficiency.

High-speed gear cutting with new direct-drive table

The MGC300 is developed on a compact gantry-type machining center. It features a high-speed spindle with a maximum rotation speed of 15,000 rpm, and its feed axes achieve rapid traverse speeds of 63 m/min.

Equipped with a newly developed direct-drive high-speed table for gear cutting, the machine performs high-precision gear processing through synchronized control with the high-speed spindle. A wide range of gear cutting operations is supported in a single chucking, including machining of gear profiles using standard end mills, which expands the machining versatility.

Easy operation with conversational interface

The MGC300 adopts a conversational input interface that simplifies programming and operation. Even users who are new to gear cutting or have limited experience can easily create machining programs and operate the system.
