On July 31, 2018, Meidensha announced that it would increase its mass-production capacity for electric vehicle components at three sites in Japan.
Total investment is about 7 billion yen.
The company aims to expand its business by establishing a production system for automotive parts such as EV motors, which are expected to increase demand.
At the Nagoya Plant in Kiyosu City, Aichi Prefecture, the production capacity of integrated inverter and motor units will be enhanced by the reconstruction of the building.
Kofu Meidensha, a manufacturing subsidiary, builds a new building.
The Numazu Plant in Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture will enhance facilities.
All of them will operate within 2019.
