MECT 2025 opens seminar registration, spotlighting advanced manufacturing trends

September 10, 2025

Pre-registration and Visitor Pass now available

Pre-registration for MECT2025 (MECHATRONICS TECHNOLOGY JAPAN 2025), one of the largest machine tool exhibitions of the year, opened on September 1. On the same day, seminar attendance reservations also began. To ease congestion at the venue, organizers encourage visitors to complete advance registration on the official website (mect-japan.com/2025) and bring a printed Visitor Pass for smoother entry.

MECT 2025 will host a record 524 exhibitors across 2,092 booths, exceeding the previous show’s already record-breaking scale.

Hall 1 will showcase machining centers, lathes, multitasking machines, presses, sheet metal processing equipment, and CAD/CAM software.

Hall 2 will focus on cutting tools, grinding wheels, and toolholders.

Hall 3 will feature industrial robots, logistics and transport systems, measuring instruments, and other diverse production equipment.

Daily seminar themes explore industry frontiers

Day 1: Sustainability in the automotive industry

The seminar program begins on October 22, with the first day highlighting the theme “Toward a Sustainable Automotive Industry.”

Toyota Motor will be represented by Kazuaki Takahashi, Plant Manager of both the Miyoshi and Myochi plants and adviser to the Toyota Verblitz rugby team. His presentation will focus on human resource development strategies that drive factory transformation, drawing parallels between manufacturing excellence and his rugby leadership experience.

Mazda Motor’s Shuji Fujisaki, Deputy General Manager, Production Engineering Division, will introduce the company’s “Multi-Solution Strategy,” which delivers optimal solutions tailored to diverse global energy mixes, regulations, and customer needs. He will showcase the revival of the rotary engine as a power generation unit, developed as part of Mazda’s efforts to reduce CO₂ emissions and environmental impact.

Day 2: The future of aerospace industries

The second day will explore “The Future of Aerospace.”

Boeing Research & Technology Japan’s Mitchell Olson, Research & Development Engineering Manager, will present Boeing’s automation initiatives for “high-rate production,” including robotics applications in confined spaces and scalable manufacturing systems that balance safety with operational efficiency.

Interstellar Technologies’ Satoshi Nakayama, Director of the Board and VP of Launch Vehicle, will deliver “Powering Space Innovation through Manufacturing.” He will outline the company’s vision to achieve Japan’s first vertically integrated rocket and satellite business, including current collaborations with the automotive industry to develop low-cost, high-quality, high-frequency launch vehicles.

Day 3: DX in advanced factories

The final day will spotlight smart factories, with the theme “Unlocking the True Power of DX (Digital Transformation) in Japan’s Manufacturing Facility.”

Hitachi’s Dr. Naohiko Irie, Senior Strategist at the Social Infrastructure Systems Business Unit Infrastructure Control Systems Division, will present “Hitachi’s DX Case Studies and New Initiatives Supporting Social Infrastructure.” His talk will feature new digital transformation examples from the Omika Works, which has pioneered comprehensive factory DX for over 20 years.

The seminar series concludes with HILLTOP’s President & CEO Yuki Yamamoto presenting “The Future of Manufacturing Envisioned by HILLTOP, a Leader in Digital Transformation.” He will explain how the Kyoto-based parts manufacturer digitized craftsmen’s expertise to establish human-machine collaboration, achieving 24-hour unmanned operation for high-mix, low-volume production with short lead times. The presentation will cover the development of their proprietary production management system and future applications of AI and IoT in manufacturing.
