Teikoku Chuck (Yao City, Osaka; President Sosuke Terasaka) held a ceremony on November 27 at a hotel in Osaka to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Approximately 150 business partners and other stakeholders attended the event. Panels outlining the company’s 100-year history were displayed at the venue, and a special video looked back on the company’s journey. President Terasaka expressed his determination for the next century, stating that the company aims to remain a trusted choice for customers even during major periods of change.

President Sosuke Terasaka opens the ceremony with words of appreciation
Teikoku Chuck reaches its 100th anniversary in 2026. The ceremony was held ahead of this milestone to celebrate the company’s journey. At the entrance to the venue, visitors were welcomed by panels summarizing key events from the company’s early days to the present. Many attendees paused to study the displays before the ceremony began.
One of the main programs was a special dialogue video featuring Chairman Tetsuyuki Terasaka and President Terasaka, in which they reflected on the company’s history. Chairman Terasaka spoke about the factors behind the company’s survival over 100 years: “It is important to build a solid financial foundation and create a company that remains unshaken even if there are some downturns. If you have financial leeway, you won’t panic even if the economy declines somewhat. And we must stick to our core business and value our customers and employees.” By adhering to this management philosophy, the company has maintained debt-free operations since 1997.

Akihiro Teramachi, Chairman of the Japan Machine Accessory Association (JMAA), expresses his vision: “We want to open up the future of manufacturing together”
Over the past 100 years, Teikoku Chuck has contributed to Japanese manufacturing in numerous ways. The company played a key role in establishing the Japan Machine Accessory Association (JMAA). The association’s predecessor was formed by Japanese chuck manufacturers and later expanded to include makers of ball screws, linear motion guides, and tooling products.
Company founder Seigoro Terasaka served as the first chairman of the original association. At the ceremony, Akihiro Teramachi, Chairman of the JMAA and Chairman of THK, expressed appreciation, noting that successive presidents of Teikoku Chuck had long served in important roles and contributed to the growth of the machine tool accessory industry.
Having reached this major milestone, Teikoku Chuck is now preparing for its next century. In 2024, the company established a new headquarters in Yao City and reviewed its production lines to improve productivity. President Terasaka emphasized that cooperation with partners will be essential for continued growth amid rapid changes, expressing his commitment to working together for mutual development in the years ahead.
