Toyota has developed Acceleration Suppression Function utilizing big data and launch it in summer 2020

Toyota Motor announced on February 3, 2020 that it has developed Acceleration Suppression Function that identifies abnormal accelerator operation due to pedal depression and suppresses acceleration. This function is based on big data obtained from a connected car. Toyota will introduce this function in new models launched in the summer of 2020. Toyota also plans to commercialize an acceleration suppression system that can be retrofitted for existing models at the same time.
