Murata Manufacturing announced on February 12, 2020 that the affiliated corporation in Malaysia, Murata Electronics (Malaysia), held the opening ceremony of a new production building. The investment amount is 4 billion yen for the building, and the total floor area is about 23,000 square meters. The new production building will manufacture chip inductors, noise suppression filters, and common mode choke coils. The company aims to increase its production capacity as demand for these products increases due to the increasing functionality of smartphones and the electrification of automobiles.
