On February 22, 2018, The Japan Society for Precision Engineering(JSPE)held a seminar in Tokyo. The theme was “Forefront of Smart Factory.” More than 80 participants from automotive, machine tool, university and other manufacturers attended (= photo).
Yasuyuki Nishioka, president of the Industrial Value Chain Initiative (IVI), gave A lecture titled “Creating a Future by Connecting Factories with Data,” in which he presented a vision of the manufacturing industry that Japan should aim for in the future based on IVI’s effort.
In addition, Wataru Otani, Vice President of YKK, discussed the utilization of Internet of Things based on the integrated manufacturing concept from a management perspective, and a total of six other lectures were given.
