On August 21, NTN announced the joint development of a technology that accurately predicts the remaining life of bearings with the “NTN Next Generation Research Alliance Laboratories” established at the Graduate School of Engineering of Osaka University. Remaining useful life is the amount of time a bearing can be used after flaking occurs. It has been difficult to predict with high accuracy in the past, but the new technology combines several artificial intelligence (AI) methods to improve the accuracy of estimating the remaining life of bearings. This technology enables efficient maintenance planning for machinery and equipment, thereby improving productivity and reducing costs.
