Daifuku announced on April 22 that its group company, Daifuku Intralogistics India, has completed a new factory for material handling systems in Hyderabad, Telangana, in southern India.
Full-scale operations began in April 2025. The investment, including land and production equipment, totals approximately JPY 4 billion.
The new factory has a total floor area of 33,987 m², quadrupling the company’s previous production space. Future expansions are under consideration, which could double the capacity again.
India’s manufacturing and distribution sectors have seen rapid growth in recent years, driving strong demand for material handling systems that streamline production and logistics.
Daifuku initially entered the Indian market by establishing a sales office in Mumbai in 2016, and later acquired Vega Conveyors & Automation in 2019—now operating as Daifuku Intralogistics India.
The new factory enhances local production of a wide range of intralogistics equipment, including automated storage systems, high-speed shuttles, sorters, and conveyors, targeting industries such as food, chemicals, machinery, and rubber manufacturing, as well as retail, transportation, and warehousing.
It will also bring some component production in-house, helping Daifuku establish a more efficient manufacturing structure and improve cost competitiveness. Additionally, the company aims to reduce lead times for customers and strengthen region-specific product development and service support.
The facility is also equipped with rooftop solar panels to support environmental sustainability.
