MECT 2025 set to be the largest edition ever with record number of exhibitors

July 2, 2025

Over 520 companies confirmed for Japan’s major machine tool fair

The exhibitor list has been finalized for Mechatronics Technology Japan (MECT) 2025, one of the largest machine tool trade shows in Japan this year. On June 5, the organizer, News Digest Publishing, announced that a total of 524 companies and organizations will exhibit, occupying 2,092 booths—the highest exhibitor count in the event’s history.

Based on recent trends, visitors can expect to see a wide range of proposals focusing on automation using industrial robots, digital technologies such as AI, and solutions that contribute to environmental sustainability.

Strong exhibitor enthusiasm reflects high expectations

MECT 2025 will take place from October 22 to 25 at Port Messe Nagoya in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. The organizer began accepting exhibitor applications on November 1, 2023, initially planning to close registration in February 2024. However, due to overwhelming demand, applications were closed just two weeks later, on November 14, once the venue’s capacity was reached.

In the past, the application period has closed within a month, but this is the first time it was fully booked in just half a month—highlighting the strong anticipation surrounding the show.

Focus on new technologies, automation, and sustainability

The event is held in Japan’s Chubu region, home to a strong concentration of manufacturing industries including the automotive sector. MECT is known for drawing not only corporate decision-makers but also frontline engineers and operators.

In addition to the latest machine tools and technologies, many exhibitors use MECT as an opportunity to present their products—previously launched at JIMTOF—to customers in the Chubu region.

There is growing emphasis on robot-based automation, AI and other digital solutions, and technologies aimed at reducing environmental impact. As a result, such displays have steadily increased in recent editions.

According to visitor surveys from the previous show, nearly 70% of attendees cited “gathering information on new products” and “exploring the latest technologies” as their main goals. Many also commented positively, saying they were glad to see cutting-edge systems not typically available elsewhere, and that it was enjoyable to explore various efficiency-improving solutions.

The theme of this year’s show is:

“I found it, here!!!!”

MECT 2025 is expected to be a hotbed of new product launches and innovative discoveries once again.
