Brother opens third technology center in India to strengthen support in western region

July 23, 2025

Brother Industries has opened a new technology center with a showroom in Pune, Maharashtra, western India. The new facility, called Brother Technology Center (BTC) Pune, was officially inaugurated on June 5, 2025. This is Brother’s third BTC in India to feature a machine tool showroom, following Bengaluru in the south and Gurugram in the north.

The facility has a total floor area of 650 square meters, including a 190-square-meter showroom. The showroom features five models from the SPEEDIO series of compact machining centers—S700Bd1, S700Xd2, R450Xd1, M300Xd1-5AX, and H550Xd1. The center is equipped to handle customer requests for part processing consultations and test cutting.

Brother previously had no technical support base in western India. With the opening of BTC Pune, the company aims to improve responsiveness and strengthen marketing and after-sales support in the region by operating closer to customers.

India, now the world’s most populous country, is seeing strong growth in the machine tool market, especially in automotive and two-wheeler sectors. In line with this trend, Brother has been expanding its technical infrastructure: establishing BTC Bengaluru in 2021, launching local subsidiary Brother Machinery India in 2022, opening BTC Gurugram in 2023, and starting local production in 2024.

With BTC Pune, Brother now operates six technology centers in Japan and thirteen overseas.
