TSUGAMI showcases two new machine models at 2025 Technical Fair

July 25, 2025

TSUGAMI held its annual private show, the “TSUGAMI Technical Fair 2025,” on June 19 and 20 at its Nagaoka Factory in Niigata, Japan. The event attracted approximately 1,300 visitors from both domestic and overseas markets. A total of 21 machine tools were exhibited, including two new models.

One of the new products was the BW389ZJ, an independent opposed gang-type CNC lathe designed for machining workpieces up to 38 mm in diameter. To accommodate larger-diameter parts compared to previous models, the machine’s structure was optimized through structural analysis to maintain high rigidity. In response to user requests, the BW389ZJ now supports balanced turning from both sides, contributing to reduced cycle times.

The other new model, the M08J-III turret-type lathe, features an increased machining diameter of up to 350 mm. The coolant tank can now be pulled out from the front of the machine, improving maintainability.

“Our goal is to deliver products that meet market needs—not only by developing high-end models like the BW389ZJ, but also by upgrading general-purpose lathes in the high-demand segment,” said a TSUGAMI representative.
