On July 9, JTEKT announced that it had installed a demonstration unit of its hydrogen-fueled cooking appliance, the “hydrogen grill,” in the restaurant at its headquarters in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture.
The hydrogen used as fuel is generated at the Carbon Neutral (CN) Lab established on the headquarters premises in June last year and stored in specially developed cylinders. This initiative reduces CO₂ emissions during cooking and accelerates decarbonization efforts even outside the company’s production divisions.
The hydrogen grill is a cooking appliance jointly developed by Rinnai and Toyota Motor as part of efforts to realize a hydrogen-based society.
