Yamazen, a Japanese leading trading company specializing in industrial equipment, announced on October 1 that it will participate in the “Humanoid Physical Data Generation Center” project. The initiative is a consortium-type effort led by INSOL-HIGH (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Munekatsu Isobe), with which Yamazen has maintained a business partnership since April 2025.
The project will establish a facility housing up to 50 humanoid robots that will be operated by humans to generate and accumulate AI training data for various manufacturing tasks, including picking, assembly, inspection, and material handling. The center is scheduled to be completed in spring 2026 and aims to bring together 10 participating companies.
Katsuto Nakayama, General Manager of Yamazen’s Total Factory Solution Division, commented: “This project is an important first step toward humanoid robots working alongside us as members of society. Through collaboration with leading companies, we aim not only to achieve early social implementation but also to create new business opportunities from Japan to the world.”
