Ten leading tool manufacturers showcase their latest innovations — from high-efficiency milling and ultra-precise finishing to long tool life and stable machining performance.
These new tools are designed to meet increasingly diverse manufacturing needs and may well become the next industry standards.
Sumitomo Electric Industries has added the AVIX-F model to its “AVIX” series of end mills for carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP).
Its hybrid “cross-nick” groove geometry—combining large and small semicircular flutes—and optimized cutting edge design suppress vibration to achieve stable, high-quality machining of thin CFRP sheets.
A diamond coating ensures both excellent surface finish and long tool life.
The Seco Stabilizer series features an original flute geometry that minimizes vibration for chatter-free, stable machining.
It supports high-feed cutting with smooth chip evacuation and incorporates the SIRON-A coating technology to extend tool life and reduce tool changes.
Designed with a larger bottom radius (R) than a conventional ball end mill, the MLFH330 allows greater pick feed at the same cusp height.
Its three-flute design increases feed speed and machining efficiency.
Equipped with NS TOOL’s “MUGEN COATING PREMIUM,” it handles hardened steels up to HRC65 with excellent durability and surface finish.
The IX EPDB-TH3 ball end mill adopts a newly developed ultra-fine grain carbide substrate offering exceptional wear and chipping resistance in hardened steel machining.
Its optimized cutting edge geometry delivers long tool life and high precision— providing tool life several times longer than previous models, and in many cases enabling the replacement of costlier CBN tools.
Kanefusa expands its Nova E’z Disc series with the compact Disc-mini, a multi-tooth replaceable-head diamond face mill for aluminum.
The densely arranged small-diameter teeth enable high-efficiency milling, while a single-step head replacement dramatically reduces tool change time compared with insert-type cutters.
Union Tool has expanded its UDC series for cemented carbide and brittle materials with the UDC-S lineup.
A helical cutting edge design reduces cutting resistance, while diamond coating and optimized edge geometry significantly increase material removal volume.
Available in 16 variants with ball radii from 1.5 to 3 mm.
The CoroMill MS20 is a versatile cutter for shoulder, face, ramping, and plunging operations.
Its two-corner inserts with chipbreakers enable sintered inserts to achieve accuracy comparable to ground inserts.
In steels, stainless steels, heat-resistant, and titanium alloys, the MS20 achieves more than twice the tool life of existing market products.
The LA Aqua REVO Drill and LA Aqua REVO Drill Starting allow consistent overhang lengths across tool sizes, eliminating retract movements during tool changes.
This feature simplifies setup, enhances productivity, and ensures easy tool replacement.
The N-Swiss CAP quick-change system uses NTK’s original coupling structure, allowing tools on automatic lathes to be clamped or released with a half turn of a wrench. Despite being comparable in size to a 12 mm square tool holder, it achieves superior rigidity. It reduces tool change time by approximately 80%, doubles or triples machining accuracy and efficiency, and achieves a repeatability within ±2 µm.
ISCAR’s QUICK 3CHAM is the industry’s first (according to the company) 3-flute replaceable-head drill.
Its three cutting edges ensure high productivity, while the 3-point support design stabilizes entry and prevents tool deflection.
Compared with conventional 2-flute replaceable drills, it delivers about 1.5× higher drilling productivity and over 3× in boring operations.
