Tokyo Electron gets land in anticipation of future increases in production

On September 11, 2018, Tokyo Electron announced that it had acquired land in Taiwa town, Miyagi Prefecture, in order to expand its business in the future.
The company acquired the land adjacent to Tokyo Electron Miyagi, a wholly owned subsidiary responsible for the development and manufacture of etching equipment. The area is about 111,000 square meters.
Delivery of land is scheduled to take place in March 2021, and concrete scale of operation and total investment of the factory are undetermined.
The semiconductor market is expected to continue to expand over the long term, and Tokyo Electron will also establish a framework for medium-to long-term growth.
