Canon consolidates six plants into a new plant with the big investment of 10 billion yen

Canon and Canon Mold, a subsidiary in charge of die molding business, announced on May 16, 2019 that they would consolidate six plants into one in Kasama city, Ibaraki prefecture. It will build a new plant to produce precision plastics die molding. Approximately 10 billion yen will be invested over the next three years.

The total floor area is about 18,000 square meters. The new plant will start to operate in August 2020. Both companies will renovate buildings and facilities to increase production capacity. The companies will build a production system in cooperation with the Ami Office in Ibaraki Prefecture in order to respond to changes in demand caused by market fluctuations.
