Panasonic builds new wiring device factory in Southern India

Panasonic announced on December 17, 2019 that Panasonic Life Solutions India of affiliated corporation will build the new factory in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. At the new factory, it will produce wiring devices, electrical wire and switchgear. The amount of investment is approximately 4.6 billion yen. The new factory will be Panasonic’s fourth electrical equipment material production base in India, and is scheduled to start production in autumn 2021.

The Indian economy is expanding in recent years. Demand for electrical equipment materials such as switches, sockets and switchgears are increasing along with construction wave. Panasonic will strive to expand sales by broadening the product lineup targeted at the middle class.
