Shimadzu aims to expand medical systems business in Asia by establishing its subsidiary in Vietnam

Shimadzu announced on January 17, 2020 that it established Shimadzu Vietnam, a sales subsidiary for the medical systems segment in Vietnam. Shimadzu established Shimadzu Vietnam Medical Hi-Tech, a medical systems manufacturing subsidiary as a joint venture with capital from Vietnam and Hong Kong in 1997. Shimadzu Vietnam Medical Hi-Tech will transition from being a joint venture of three companies to a wholly-owned subsidiary to promote the aftermarket business and achieve new business expansion as the Vietnam market matures. Shimadzu Vietnam will expand medical systems businesses by building the capabilities necessary for quick decision-making in the rapidly changing market environment.
