SHIMADZU launched the MIV-500 ultrasonic optical flaw detector for aircraft manufacturing and maintenance inspections on February 5, 2020. MIV-500 is equipped with its original nondestructive inspection technology (ultrasonic optical flaw detection) that images the propagation of ultrasonic waves, and can visualize abnormalities near the surface of aircraft bodies and parts. It is unnecessary for MIV-500 to remove painting or painting film, thus improving the efficiency of inspection.
