Sumitomo establishes a factory for EMS in Wuxi, China to strengthen in-vehicle business

Sumitomo Corporation announced on May 26, 2020 that Sumitomo’s subsidiary SUMITRONICS will establish a new factory for electronics manufacturing service（EMS）in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China. SUMITRONICS and DI-NIKKO ENGINEERING will jointly establish a new factory, which is scheduled to start operation in June. The investment ratio is 86％ by SUMITRONICS’ affiliated corporation in China, and DI-NIKKO ENGINEERING ‘s subsidiary is 14%.

The electronic information industry is popular in Wuxi, and many Japanese companies has also been expanding their business there. Sumitomo aims to focus on the in-vehicle business field by establishing a new factory in collaboration with DI-NIKKO ENGINEERING, which has strengths in in-vehicle equipment.
