On October 5th, 2017, Yaskawa Electric announced that it would launch a new solution concept “i3-Mechatronics” to automate and digitize plant lines. The concept is a total solution that combines the company’s products, such as servo, inverter, and robots with software proposals such as data utilization. By connecting each facilities and utilizing its operating data, it is possible to visualize the production status in real time, thereby improving productivity.
In addition, analysis of data regarding quality realizes regularization of inspection and improves product quality. It realizes a plant line that does not stop due to the failure prediction with AI and the improvement of maintenance efficiency with AR, thereby contributing to the improvement of customer productivity.
The concept will be presented at the International Robot Exhibition 2017 held at Tokyo Big Sight on November 29th, 2017. In June 2018, Yaskawa Electric plans to introduce and verify the concept into “Yaskawa Solution Factory”, which will be opened at Iruma plant.
