Kawasaki Heavy Industries, a leading heavy industry maker, and an electronic component maker SONY, announced on May 25, 2021 that they will establish a new robot-related company. They will establish the new company in the summer of 2021, in which they will each hold a 50% stake.
The business will focus on the development of a remote control platform for robots.
The new company will develop a remote control system using a dedicated robot controller, a work status monitoring system, and a device status management system.
The remote control platform will be tested in-house by Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Sony Group. The service is scheduled to start in 2022.
