JTEKT, a manufacturer of automotive parts and machine tools, will unify all of its business brands under the name “JTEKT” from April 2022. President Kazuhiro Sato made the announcement at a press conference on January 19, 2022.
The company was formed in 2006 through the merger of Koyo Seiko, a bearing manufacturer, and Toyoda Machine Works, a machine tool builder. JTEKT currently operates under the brands “JTEKT” for the automotive components business, “Koyo” for the bearing business, and “TOYODA” for the machine tool business. From April in 2022, the Koyo and Toyoa brands will be unified under JTEKT. By unifying the brands, the company will further strengthen the synergy effect between the business units.
