JTEKT opens “Gear Innovation Center” in Kariya Plant

On November 1, 2021, JTEKT, a maker of automotive parts and machine tools, will establish a “Gear Innovation Center” at its Kariya Plant, a production base for machine tools.

The “Gear Innovation Center” proposes gear processing technologies to meet customer needs by combining the technologies of the JTEKT Group and partner manufacturers. Together with JTEKT group companies and partner manufacturers, JTEKT has built a gear production line in the “Gear Innovation Center” that includes turning, gear cutting, heat treatment, grinding, and measurement.

JTEKT possesses a variety of gear processing technologies across the entire group, led by the “Gear Skiving Centers,” which was commercialized for the first time in the world in 2013.
