[New year event #3] Top interview with the presidents of Okuma, DMG MORI and THK

On January 11, 2022, News Digest Publishing, the publisher of SEISANZAI Japan, held a New Year’s event at the Nagoya Congress Center in Atsuta-ku, Nagoya, attended by 519 people from the machine tool industry. The SEISANZAI Japan editorial team is reporting on the event over the next three days.

The event also featured a “New Year’s interview” with three top executives: Dr. Atsushi Ieki, president of Okuma, Dr. Masahiko Mori, president of DMG MORI, and Mr. Akihiro Teramachi, president of THK. Mr. Hachiro Higuchi, president of News Digest Publishing, served as the moderator.

Dr. Ieki, President of Okuma, said “The market situation in the machine tool industry is basically ‘fine, later fine’, and we have entered a medium-term growth phase”. Dr. Mori, president of DMG MORI, said, “In the machine tool industry, short delivery times are not always a good thing. Each machine tool builder should have an appropriate order backlog”.
