iREX2022: Don’t miss the latest in robot technology! (2/2)

March 8, 2022

International Robot Exhibition 2022 (iREX2022) will be held at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo from March 9 to 12, 2022.

International Robot Exhibition 2022 (iREX2022) will be held at Tokyo Big Sight in Koto-ku, Tokyo for four days from March 9 to 12, 2022. The number of exhibitors will be 615 companies and organizations, and the scale of the exhibition will be the largest ever, with 3227 booths. Under the theme of “The way towards a friendlier society, bridged by robots”, robot-related companies will showcase their latest products and technologies. SEISANZAI Japan will introduce the outline of iREX and the exhibits of each company in advance of the starting of iREX in two parts.

The view of the Kawasaki Heavy Industries booth. Its concept is “Trustworthy Solutions for the Future.”

Kawasaki Heavy Industries will showcase specific initiatives in the areas of “A Safe and Secure Remotely-Connected Society” and “Near-Future Mobility”. Specifically, the company plans to exhibit its automated PCR testing robot system, which boasts high testing accuracy and diagnostic speed, as well as its surgical robot support system “hinotori”. On March 1, the company also launched “Vambo”, a robot for unloading cargo in the logistics sector. “Vambo” is a combination of the “RS080N” vertical articulated robot and an automatic guided vehicle (AGV). It automatically enters the container and unloads cases of various sizes. In the past, cases had to be removed from the container manually. “Vambo” is equipped with a newly developed 3D artificial intelligence vision system and robot hands, and can unload up to 600 cases per hour.

Yamaha Motor’s “LCMR200”. The concept of the exhibit is “μ to km – Robotics Transportation”.

Yamaha Motor will showcase under the theme of transportation. The concept is “μ to km – Robotics Transportation”. Transportation at the production site is a time that does not directly contribute to production, but Yamaha Motor adds new value to it by adding various functions and connecting them together. The company will exhibit its “LCMR200” linear conveyor module for small workpiece production lines. At the exhibition, the company will propose the use of LCM by combining non-contact power supply and scanning cameras.

The company will also be demonstrating its 7-axis collaborative robot that overturns its fixed image, “safe but slow.” The 7-axis collaborative robot enables work in narrow areas and can select a high-speed mode in addition to the low-speed operation of a standard collaborative robot.

IAI will have a stand of 100 booths. The company plans to promote the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and electricity costs of the facilities through the installation of its electric cylinder “ELECYLINDER”. The highlight will be the “All Electric Conveyor Line,” which is designed for various operations in the logistics field that require labor-saving and automation. It is intended for use in logistics, and proposes to automate the assembly of folding containers, storage of cardboard, loading and unloading of cage-type carts, and sorting of cargo using a variety of electric actuators.

iREX2022, one of the world’s largest robot exhibitions, will finally start tomorrow. SEISANZAI Japan will publish reports on iREX2022 after the exhibition.
