Mitsubishi Hitachi Tool Engineering added a square type insert, “SQ-type”, to its radius end mills. Previously, it was necessary to change the tool to machine the corner of the die into a square shape. By using the new type, it is possible to remove the corner R that remains after machining with a radius tool. The use of the cutting edge with the original twisted shape and the new material type “PN 215” allows achieving a long tool life.
