Wire-cut EDM “VN400Q”

Sodick has released “VN400Q,” a new entry model of linear motor-driven wire EDM for high-precision parts machining, which has been becoming smaller and more accurate in recent years. This new model meets the needs for high-precision machining and efficient metalworking of complex-shaped parts, mainly for medical equipment and aerospace parts.

The VN400Q is equipped with a linear motor developed and produced by Sodick.

The linear motor drive system provides excellent moving speed and positioning accuracy that prevents mechanical contact, enabling the machine to maintain high accuracy, responsiveness, and stability. The axis travel (X x Y x Z) is 400 x 300 x 230 mm, and the maximum work size that can be machined is 830 mm (W) x 700 mm (D) x 255 mm (H).

The VN400Q was displayed at IMTS2022 held in Chicago from September 12 to 17, 2022, and is also scheduled to be exhibited at JIMTOF2022 in Tokyo from November 8 to 13, 2022.
