Fuji changed its name from “Fuji Machine Mfg.” to “FUJI” on April 1, 2018.
In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the company’s founding, the company’s name was unified to FUJI, a highly recognized brand name around the world.
Fuji held a press conference at the headquarters show room in Chiryu city, Aichi prefecture, on March 23 2018. President Nobuyuki Soga (photograph) said, “we want to become a more dynamic company taking this opportunity. We intend to actively invest management resources to proprietary technology and open innovation beyond the industry and to expand our business area more flexibly and swiftly.”
In accordance with the company name change, the name of the Fujioka Plant, a major production base, was changed to “Toyota Plant.” In March 2019, the company will invest 5 billion yen in the Toyota plant, and will build a new plant with a total floor area of 23,000 m2. In the two-story factory, machine tools are produced on the first floor and products of robots and for new business are produced on the second floor.
The company plans to increase its manufacturing capacity by 30% from the previous level by using IoT technologies.
