On October 3 and 4, Brother Industries held a New Product Launch Event at the Brother Technology Center at its Kariya Plant in Aichi, Japan (= photo). The two-day event attracted about 550 visitors.
The event provided an exclusive preview of new products in the SPEEDIO series of compact machining centers, which are scheduled to debut at the upcoming “32nd Japan International Machine Tool Fair (JIMTOF 2024)” in Tokyo this November.
The highlight was the “DG-1”, a compact 4-axis machining center with a BT15 spindle taper designed specifically for deburring die-cast parts. It features various user-friendly functions such as easy teaching point setting and automatic tool path generation using a dedicated controller, which significantly reduces setup time. Makoto Hoshi, Senior Managing Executive Officer and Head of the Machinery Business Division, stated, “The DG-1 enables easy mechanization of deburring processes for variable die-cast parts that previously required manual labor”.
