On May 18, 2018, Daikin Industries announced that the plant of the local subsidiary was completed in Vietnam.
The amount of investment is about 8 billion yen.
The plant is located in the near the capital Hanoi, and mainly manufactures air-conditioning equipment.
In Asia, where economic growth is remarkable, since the middle income earners is increasing in Vietnam, demand for air conditioners for households will expand.
The country has high electricity charges against prices and has high interest in energy-saving products.
Daikin Industries will start local production with a view to future market expansion.
It is the first time to build a full-fledged air conditioning factory in Vietnam to train local engineers.
