On May 22 and 23, Sodick held its “SENTAN (cutting-edge)” Product Showcase 2025 at its Kaga facility in Ishikawa Prefecture. It was the first time in about seven and a half years that the company hosted a private show at this site. More than 1,000 visitors attended over the two-day event.
The event featured a wide range of Sodick products, including electrical discharge machines, machining centers, injection molding machines, metal 3D printers, and micro laser processing systems. All of these were exhibited together in one location.
A key highlight was Sodick’s comprehensive solution for producing MT ferrules, which are high-precision resin components used to connect optical fibers. The solution included a small-hole drilling machine called K3BL for microhole pre-processing in molds, the company’s flagship wire EDM model EXC100L+ for finishing, and the high-precision injection molding machine LP20EH4 for forming the ferrules.
Sodick also revealed the internal structure of the EXC100L+ during the event. This provided visitors with a closer look at the technologies that enable high-precision machining.
