Sodick held its “Private Show 2024” on March 12 and 13 at the Research and Technology Center at its headquarters in Yokohama, Japan.
Among the highlights of the show was the “AL600G iG+E”, a wire EDM with many new features. This cutting-edge machine, driven by a high-speed linear motor, incorporates an innovative “i-groove” wire rotation mechanism, making it particularly suitable for precision finishing of workpieces with thicknesses exceeding 50 mm. The company highlighted its ability to reduce wire consumption by up to 30%. Automation solutions were also introduced, such as the “SR12”, a packaged automatic workpiece changer that can be attached to the latest UX450L machining center.
The event also featured seminars on automation and energy saving strategies, including presentations by Sodick user KOEI TOOL (Osaka, Japan, President: Kenichi Sugimoto), which attracted considerable interest from attendees.
