From June 10 to 12, Hasegawa Machine Works held a private show at its Shirakawa plant in Nishigō, Fukushima Prefecture. Approximately 350 guests attended the three-day event. The company exhibited 10 machines, including the newly developed C52 turret-type lathe and the PM320-5XT multitasking 5-axis machining center launched last year.
The C52 is Hasegawa’s largest turret-type lathe to date, capable of machining bar stock up to 52 mm in diameter on both the front and rear spindles. Designed with a highly rigid structure, the machine demonstrated deep-cutting capabilities during live demonstrations. The turret can mount up to 12 different cutting tools—the most of any Hasegawa model.
Also highlighted was the PM320-5XT, a 5-axis machining center enhanced with turning capabilities. The rotary table is equipped with a built-in direct-drive (DD) motor for turning applications, capable of reaching speeds of up to 2,000 rpm.
President Toru Hasegawa explained the company’s evolving development strategy: “Until now, our concept was to produce precise parts with compact machines. But now, we want to expand our lineup to include multitasking machines and models with greater rigidity.”
