IKO develops high-durability dust cover with zipper mechanism for linear motion systems

Nippon Thompson has developed a new dust cover for linear motion equipment called the “high-performance zipper-type dust cover.” The cover features a high-durability zipper co-developed with leading fastener manufacturer YKK.

The slider automatically opens and closes the zipper in sync with the movement of a dedicated table, keeping the cover closed at all times except directly under the table. This mechanism extends the service life of the transfer unit by providing consistent protection against dust and contaminants.

Unlike traditional bellows-type covers, this new design eliminates stroke limitations, allows easy attachment and removal, and improves maintainability.
