Mazak presents labor shortage solutions at DISCOVER 2025

Private show attracts approximately 3,000 visitors over three days

Yamazaki Mazak held its private show “DISCOVER 2025“ from December 3 to 5 at the World Technology Center showroom within the Minokamo Plant in Minokamo City, Gifu Prefecture. The three-day event attracted approximately 3,000 visitors.

Three-pronged approach to address labor challenges

A total of 26 machines, including four new models, were displayed at the venue. Mazak proposed various solutions to address labor shortages through three key approaches: process integration, automation, and digital utilization.

One of the highlights was the new “FT-250” laser processing machine for pipes and structural steel. The machine features two axes: the material feed axis (X-axis) and the laser head feed axis (U-axis). By controlling both axes simultaneously, high-speed processing can be achieved. When equipped with a rotary tool unit, the machine also enables process integration.

The venue also featured a hands-on experience area for “MAZATROL DX,” software designed to realize digital transformation (DX) in machining operations. The demonstration attracted strong interest from visitors.
