Okuma Corporation hosted the “Okuma Osaka Machine Fair 2026” at its Osaka Branch. The highlight of the exhibition was the “MULTUS U2000,” a compact multitasking machine making its western Japan debut. While maintaining a space-saving footprint, the machine is capable of high-precision, simultaneous 5-axis machining.
In response to the growing demand for labor-saving solutions, Okuma demonstrated the integration of the “OMR20” mobile collaborative robot with the “GP26W” CNC cylindrical grinder.
“Grinding is a foundational technology for our company, and we want to highlight our grinding machines at this private show,” said Atsuya Suzuki, Manager of the Osaka Branch. “In western Japan, beyond the automotive industry, we are seeing increasing installations in job shops and heavy industries.”
The company also proposed labor-saving setups for the “MB-80V” vertical machining center by equipping it with a magnetic chuck from Nabeya (Gifu City; President Tomohiko Okamoto). The magnetic chuck allows operators to complete clamping tasks with a single touch on the controller, reducing setup time during changeovers.
