Mitsubishi Materials has added a long-edge insert to its FMAX series of milling cutters designed for finishing aluminum alloys.
The new insert enables the removal of bumps left after rough machining of cast parts, making intermediate finishing unnecessary. This contributes to shorter overall machining times.
The insert is made of sintered diamond, which resists edge chipping and minimizes burr formation. As a result, the tool life is significantly extended.
