The global largest MT builder strengthens its productivity with multi-tasked 5-axis MC

On June 2019, DMG MORI introduced DMC125FD duo BLOCK, a 5-axis machining center that has function of grinding to Iga Plant in Mie Prefecture.

Heavy cutting and grinding after hardening, which conventionally had to use both of a horizontal machining center and of a grinding machine, are consolidated into one machine.

The production lead time was reduced by approximately 40% due to the reduction of setup. It can be machined by one chuck, and the machining accuracy can be increased without positioning errored occurred by reclamping. The machining demonstration was shown at the open house called Iga innovation days 2019 from July 9 to 13, 2019.
