Hino Motors announced on August 22, 2019 that its affiliated corporation in U.S. started operation of a new plant in West Virginia to manufacture medium-sized trucks. The plant started operation in June 2019, and deliver the trucks from late August in 2019.
The investment amount is approximately 15 billion yen. The site area is about 380,000 square meters. In order to strengthen the foundations in the US and to grow the markets in the U.S., the company expands its lineup and promote local production. The production of cabs for North American cars will be transferred from Japan to shorten the delivery time.
