Aircraft parts factory starts operation in 2020

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries announced on August 19, 2019 that it would build a New Combustor Center at Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works in Nagasaki city. It will be built as Nagasaki Works of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Aero Engines, which handles aircraft engine business. The investment is 8 billion yen and the building area is about 5400 square meters. The new plant will start construction in October 2019 and start operation in 2020. The company establishes a system for integrated production of aircraft engine parts. The new factory will introduce technologies such as the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence to improve production efficiency.
