Mazda reforms organization in Japan for new joint venture with Toyota in the U.S.

Mazda announced on March 6, 2020 that it will reorganize its organization in Japan on April 1, following the construction of a new joint venture plant with Toyota Motor in the U.S.

In the area of business in North America, the US production preparation office was responsible for the construction, production preparation and promotion towards establishment of business structure of the production joint venture “Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, U.S.A.” (MTMUS) with Toyota. However, these operations will be transferred to Mazda North American Operations (MNAO), MTMUS in the US.

Mazda will abolish the US production preparation office and establish a system to provide support services at the corporate planning & development division and head office plant. The aim is to reorganize the project structure and improve efficiency.
