Vehicle Energy Japan of Hitachi Group announced on April 7, 2020 that it established a new lithium-ion batteries building for hybrid vehicles（HV）in Kyoto Prefecture. The total floor area of the 4-story building is 30,000 square meters. The new building will produce 150,000 to 200,000 batteries and module packs per year in a HV batteries base. Vehicle Energy Japan will strengthen the supply system for HV batteries, including the Sawa plant in Ibaraki Prefecture, to build a stable supply.
