Ricoh announced on June 23, 2020 that it will start mass production of office printing devices in Dongguan Guangdong, China from July 2020. The new factory will be operated by Ricoh Manufacturing (China), a company which produces office printing devices established in China.
At the new factory, collection of the data using Internet of Things (IoT) and digital manufacturing by introducing robots and automation equipment will be implemented. It enables to do predictive equipment maintenance and motion analysis of workers, improving productivity.
The company will accelerate the construction of next-generation production systems that utilize digital technology at the new factory, and will produce office printing devices concurrently with Thailand’s Ricoh Manufacturing (Thailand), the mass production base.
