Toyota invests in space business fund

Toyota Motor announced on June 29, that it has invested in a fund that supports space development with mega-banks such as MUFG Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking and Mizuho Bank. The investee is “Space Frontier Investment Limited Partnership” established by SPARX Group’s subsidiary “SPARX Innovation for the Future (SIF)”. The total investment amount is 8.2 billion yen. SIF is in charge of fund management and started to operate the fund in June.

“Space Frontier Investment Limited Partnership” invests in start-ups that have technologies related to space development. SIF seeks investment from other investors, aiming to establish fund with a total size of 15 billion yen.
